About Saint Thomas Aquinas Cemetery

Located in the picturesque valley of Ojai, California, Saint Thomas Aquinas Cemetery is a truly cherished haven for remembrance and reflection. Named in honor of the celebrated 13th-century philosopher and theologian, Saint Thomas Aquinas, this sacred site beautifully embodies his enduring legacy of faith and reason.

Since its establishment in 1912 by the Diocese of Monterey-Los Angeles, the cemetery has been lovingly managed by the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Los Angeles. Its rich history features heartfelt burials that took place under diocesan care until the late 1930s. In recent years, exciting enhancements have transformed the cemetery, including the creation of a stunning granite columbarium and the addition of accessible pathways for everyone to enjoy.

Current restoration efforts are enthusiastically focused on preserving this historic sanctuary, ensuring that it remains a dignified space where future generations can honor and celebrate the lives of their loved ones.
