Good Shepherd Cemetery was dedicated in May of 1991 to accommodate the rapid growth of the Catholic population in and Lancaster. It is the most recently built cemetery in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, and it serves the Lancaster, Palmdale, Quartz Hill, and other High Desert communities.
Good Shepherd occupies 100 acres, most of it still pristine and undeveloped. Its gravesites are surrounded by beautiful panoramas, from lush green to painted desert. Its lawns are decorated with beautiful native trees and biblically themed sculpture.
Good Shepherd’s mausoleum chapel is striking, built in California’s traditional mission style. As the newest Archdiocesan cemetery, Good Shepherd offers a range of cemetery plots and cremation niches, reflecting the fullness of Catholic tradition as well as the most recent developments in the field.
