Due to Covid-19 concerns, this year's Vigil will be a virtual Prayer Service. Five community groups have been invited to create Altars. The Prayer Vigil will be a Livestream service only. The community altars will be on display after All Souls Day Mass on November 1, 2021, in the Calvary Mausoleum courtyard. Community members may participate virtually and safely through our Website or Facebook pages. Altars will remain on display daily through November 5th. Dia de los Muertos, or “Day of the Dead,” celebrates the feasts of All Souls Day and All Saints Day. The celebration is an expression of Latin American culture and Catholic beliefs, which makes use of some familiar symbols to teach and celebrate the Church’s teaching on the communion of the saints and the souls in purgatory.
