Photo by David Brackney The Stations of the Cross, significant in the Catholic faith, commemorate Jesus’ final hours and have a rich history dating back to early Christian pilgrims. The practice became popularized in the 14th century by the Franciscans, ultimately standardizing to 14 stations that depict key events, from Christ's condemnation to burial.
