The Back to Mass movement, spearheaded by the Archdiocese of Los Angeles in collaboration with eCatholic and My Saint My Hero, aims to rekindle our connection with the Holy Eucharist and invite everyone to experience the profound peace and joy of attending Mass.
Why Back to Mass?
For decades, Catholic churches across the country have seen a decline in Mass attendance, a trend only accelerated by the disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. The Back to Mass initiative is a heartfelt response to this challenge, encouraging Catholics to return to the source and summit of our faith: the Real Presence of Jesus in the Eucharist1.
A Message from Archbishop Gomez
Archbishop Gomez reminds us of Jesus’ invitation to His disciples: “Come and see!” This simple yet powerful call is at the heart of the Back to Mass campaign. It’s an invitation to rediscover the miracle of the Mass and to feel Jesus’ love tangibly. As Archbishop Gomez beautifully puts it, "We need the Lord, like ancient navigators needed the stars"1.
