Change of Date for August Memorial Mass

On the tranquil grounds of Mission San Fernando Rey de España, a significant tradition takes place each month in the chapel, as the Catholic Cemeteries & Mortuaries host the Memorial Mass. This solemn and ceremonial service is much more than a mere ritual; it is a heartfelt gathering where individuals come together to honor and pray for the souls of their departed loved ones. 

The Mass is typically held on the second Tuesday of each month and serves as a poignant and reflective moment for the community to come together and remember those who have passed on, reaffirming the enduring connection to faith and one another. However, for August 2024, there is an important change to note. The Memorial Mass, scheduled for August 13th, will now take place on the third Tuesday, August 20th, at 11:00 am. This shift in schedule is a rare occurrence, and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause the regular attendees and those planning to visit for the first time.

The Mass holds a special place in the hearts of many, as it is an opportunity to celebrate the lives of loved ones who have journeyed on. It is a time to gather in unity, share in grief and love, and find solace in the collective act of remembrance. Special intentions are offered for those recently served in our cemeteries and mortuaries.
