ministry of consolation -Training programs
With care, dignity, and proper training, we can provide immeasurable comfort to those who are grieving. That’s why Catholic Cemeteries & Mortuaries, in collaboration with the Office for Divine Worship, has established the Ministry of Consolation. This comprehensive Bereavement Training Program is designed for laypeople, religious, hospital staff, hospice caregivers, and Catholic clergy.
The program, which requires a strong attendance commitment, is designed to help create the basis for a Bereavement Team in each parish in the Archdiocese. To that end, we recommend that five or more people from each parish attend—people who will commit themselves in a caring way to journey in faith with the bereaved suffering a loss in their community.
